Our Review
This Bobby Jones driver, designed by master craftsman Jesse Ortiz, ranks #1 across the board by many independent review organizations. Bobby Jones Golf is definitely competing against some of the big boys in the manufacturing business, but this design seems to be very innovative and holds its own in tests for distance and accuracy. The triangular shape of the club head is the differentiating factor, allowing maximum correction for off-center shots, and straighter drives. Ortiz calls this design the Triangle of Stability. The technology behind this design works like a hammer head. While a square-head driver helps correct extreme heel and toe hits, it does not adequately correct those hit slightly off center. By eliminating the compromised mass in the rear quadrant areas of square designs, Ortiz repositioned this weight deep and directly behind the center of the impact zone. Ortiz said he designed this club for maximum forgiveness on 95% of shots, not for the 5% of extremely poor ones.
