The Callaway Driver – Reviews of the Best Callaway Golf Drivers
Callaway drivers blend art and technology with superior golf knowledge to create cutting edge golf drivers. Our Callaway driver reviews look at these exciting clubs.
Callaway prides itself on being the technological leader in golf driver design. They boast more than 1,100 United States patents – more than any other golf manufacturer. Callaway’s sole goal in advancing golf driver technology is for golfers of all ability levels to have personal breakthroughs on the course. This could mean hitting more fairways, breaking par, or with their Callaway drivers, hitting the ball farther and straighter off the tee.
The Technology Behind Callaway Drivers
One of the most exciting recent innovations coming from Callaway is their Fusion Technology. Golf drivers using this technology are constructed using multiple types of materials in order to optimize performance. Such materials may include titanium, graphite, or tungsten. Shifting and combining different materials results in a golf driver that is more optimally balanced and weighs less.
One unique feature of Fusion drivers is the use of Carbon Composite materials. According to Callaway this technology took 10 years to research and perfect. During this time, Callaway was awarded multiple patents on both the design and the process. The primary benefit of carbon composite design is the shifting of weight in the club head to the most optimal areas.
An example of weight shifting in the driver club head can be seen through Callaway’s Optifit Weighting System. These clubs are designed to suit your particular swing. You can see in the diagram how the center of gravity can be adjusted on the driver and how those adjustments affect your shot. If you naturally leave the clubface open at impact and hit a fade or slice, Callaway offers an Optifit weighted draw driver configured to counteract that flaw. With the draw driver, weighting near the heel of the club helps to minimize fades/slices and promotes a slight draw. The same goes for players that have a tendency to hook or draw the ball. With an Optimfit fade driver, a fade is promoted. The overall result is longer and straighter drives without having to try and readjust your natural golf swing.
Another recent advance is Callaway's use of Complete Inertial Design (CID). CID analyzes golf driver attributes such as moment of interia (MOI), height and depth of the center of gravity, face design, and loft to enhance the performance of the driver. CID's goal is to achieve a high performance ball flight even when the ball is not struck in the middle of the clubface. Club twisting is minimized and you are still able to get good distance and accuracy.
Building upon CID, Callaway has also added Hyperbolic Face Technology to its golf drivers to produce a larger effective hitting area on the clubface. With a larger hitting area ball speeds are significantly greater across the entire clubface so that you can still get great distance even on off-center shots.
Company founder Ely Callaway believed that through superior golf driver design, he could provide more enjoyment and success for golfers of all skill levels. Today, Callaway Golf continues in that tradition, bringing a passion for the game to their club design. Their mission continues to be helping every golfer feel the thrill of striking that ball perfectly and consistently.

Good,comprehensive review.Thanks.
