The Callaway FT-5 driver represents another stellar advance in golf driver technology from Callaway. The FT-5 features Callaway’s state of the art Fusion Technology and its OptiFit Weighting System.

Fusion Technology uses multiple types of materials in order to optimize performance. Such materials may include titanium, graphite, or tungsten. Shifting and combining different materials results in a golf driver that is more optimally balanced and weighs less. The FT-5 features a carbon fiber composite body, which is significantly lighter than titanium, and is able redistribute weight to the rear of the driver to lower the center of gravity (CG). By lowering the CG, the Callaway FT-5 creates the most optimal ball trajectory after striking.

The OptiFit Weighting System lets golfers select from three customized golf driver options. Each driver has a different center of gravity location to choose from: Draw for promoting a draw or reducing a slice/fade; Neutral for maximum workability and for those that have a pure swing without the tendency to fade or draw; or Fade for promoting a fade or reducing a hook/draw. This amazing technology lets you pick the driver that is best for your game, without having to try to make major adjustments to your golf swing.

The Callaway FT-5 Driver also features a 460cc club head volume – the largest allowable by the USGA. Along with the max head volume, you also get a longer, wider, and hotter face and a high MOI for increased ball speed resulting in longer and straighter drives.

Also the larger, hotter CT/VFT Titanium cup face is designed to the legal limit, resulting in increased ball speed, distance and forgiveness – even on miss-hits.

After researching three other retailer websites that feature customer reviews, we found that the average customer rating for the Callaway FT-5 Driver was 4.6 out of 5. This rating was based on over 400 reviews. Some of the general positive comments are that the club increases accuracy and feels great. The major negative comment is that it is loud on impact. Personally though, I would rule this as a positive. When I’m on the tee and hit a powerful drive, I want it to sound like the ball just broke the sound barrier and I certainly want other players to look over to see who just crushed one.
